Acting Nursery Manager – Maternity Cover (Immediate Start)
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and inspiring Acting Nursery Manager to join our team on Salusbury Road in Queen's Park (NW6) for a maternity cover position. This role requires an immediate start, so we are looking for a confident leader who can hit the ground running, manage daily operations smoothly, and support our dedicated team of early years educators.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established manager, or a highly experienced Deputy/Third-in-Charge looking to step up into an acting manager capacity within a supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day operations, administration, and compliance of the nursery setting during the maternity leave period.
- Leading, mentoring, and motivating the staff team to maintain high-quality childcare and education.
- Ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations, EYFS statutory frameworks, and safeguarding policies.
- Overseeing staff rotas, daily room ratios, and parent communications.
- Cultivating strong, trusting partnerships with parents, carers, and external local authorities.
Experience
Previous leadership experience within a UK registered nursery setting is essential. We welcome applications from established Nursery Managers, Deputy Managers, or experienced Third-in-Charge practitioners ready to step up.
Qualifications
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years Educator (e.g., NVQ, CACHE).
Knowledge
Expert, up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework, Ofsted inspection requirements, and robust safeguarding procedures.
Availability
Must be available for an immediate start.
Soft Skills
Exceptional communication, strong problem-solving skills, and a warm, authoritative leadership style.
Requirements
An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (highly preferred for immediate deployment) and the right to work in the UK.
