Job Details

  • Hours: Circa 20 - 30 hours per week, to be agreed upon at appointment (Monday to Friday).
  • This is a 39-week term-time contract starting w/c 25 Aug 2025.
  • Salary: £30,342-£32,110 pro rata per annum.
  • Closing Date: 27 May 2025.

Role Description

The post holder will be part of the Action Mental Health post-primary schools counselling team, providing safe and confidential talking therapy to young people seeking therapeutic support.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma, Degree, or Masters in counselling or psychotherapy from a recognized or relevant validating organization (e.g., CPCAB), regulated by RQF or SCQF.
  • Accredited member with BACP, IACP, NCPS, or equivalent, or committed to achieving this within 12 months.
  • A minimum of 100 hours post-qualification, clinically supervised practice in counselling children and young people up to age 18, OR at least 100 hours working with adults and completion of Level 5 CPCAB Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.
  • Experience working clinically within statutory and/or voluntary agencies.
  • Full current driving license and access to a car (consideration given to alternative arrangements for applicants with disabilities).
