Job Introduction
This post has a variety of tasks and requires good organisational skills, a flexible approach and willingness to work as a team to ensure the smooth running of the Art department.
This job description is not a comprehensive definition of the post. It is subject to modification and amendment and could include other duties related to the post as required by the needs of the school and directed by your Line Manager.
Specific Duties:
- Maintaining basic classroom equipment and storage of hazardous materials (such as white spirit) along with safe maintenance of classroom equipment to include knives, wire cutters, electric saw and nail gun
- Photocopying, laminating and organisation of resources
- Preparation of new canvases
- Preparation of sculpting materials
- Maintenance and organisation of the school printing equipment to include etching plates,lino and poly boards
- Responsibility for the upkeep of the department store and management of department stock to include ordering when appropriate and keeping accurate excel spreadsheet records
- Liaising with Head of Department regarding competitions, exhibitions and trips
- Some ad hoc work may be required in the upkeep of school notice boards
