We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Kitchen Porter / Catering Assistant to join the busy catering team, working term time only (including 5 INSET days). The Tiffin Girls’ School is motivated by creating a positive food culture and helping our students eat better, healthier food. All members of the catering team work together to provide the highest-level quality of student meals, by keeping the kitchen running smoothly and ensuring that it is clean, safe and hygienic. We aim to provide healthy attractive food options for students with limited budgets. Serving time is limited and we need a fast and speedy operation to prevent queues developing.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Appreciate the need for high standards of hygiene and cleanliness and adhere to health & safety rules
  • Enjoy working with young people
  • Enjoy working under pressure as part of a very busy team

The successful candidate may already have relevant Food Hygiene qualifications or must be prepared to undertake training.

In supporting the Department for Education’s “Keeping Children Safe in Education”, the school will carry out an online search on all shortlisted candidates prior to interview. In addition, the successful candidate will be subject to both a full employment history and child protection check, and will also be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring (criminal record) check.
