Last year, we helped more than 687,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.
A bit about the role: Mellow is a service across Hereford/Worcester that partners with other agencies to deliver mental health and wellbeing support across the two counties. We also provide the Blues programme to 11-19-year-olds young people in schools, colleges and sixth forms across Worcestershire. This is a vital part of our work. We are looking for a motivated Young Person's Practitioner who is committed to supporting young people's mental health to deliver this service in Hereford/Worcestershire. You will be part of a national programme across Action for Children's four nations. You will also be delivering a range of mental health and wellbeing programmes and workshops which include Bouncing Back, exam stress, and resilience.
1 in 10 children in every classroom suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder. The Blues is an evidenced based CBT influenced programme to support the reduction of anxiety & depression in young people using an early intervention model.
How you'll help to create a brighter future:
- Delivering group work to around 500 young people a year as a team.
- Giving young people skills to manage their own emotional wellbeing.
- Working in partnership with schools and colleges.
In the role of Young Persons Practitioner, we're ideally looking for someone who has:
- NVQ3 or equivalent in youth work, working with families, childcare or another relevant field.
- Experience of delivering evidenced based programmes with fidelity.
- Experience of working with young people aged 11-19.
- A commitment to supporting young people's mental health.
You will need access to a car for travel across the two counties.
