Salary: £26,397.00 per annum (pro-rata)

Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

Contract / Hours: Permanent Part Time, 22 hours a week, Night shifts – 2 x shifts a week 10pm to 9am on a rota basis

About the service:

Short Breaks at West Hyde is a provision for children and young people with a wide variety of additional needs including learning difficulties, complex behaviour, and complex health needs, between the ages of 5 and 18 years old. The primary aim is for those who visit to have fun, enjoy themselves and make friends in a safe environment where they feel comfortable and valued whilst we offer them the same opportunities that other children their age may have. West Hyde has an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ and is always striving for ‘Outstanding’.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
  • Coordinate responsibilities within the service, with multi-agency and produce family information, including analysis and written reports.
  • Attend professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
  • Be resilient in supporting the young people through challenging situations.
  • Support the young people on the night shift.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust.
  • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families.
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or be prepared to complete this within 2 years.
