Job Description
Residential Support Worker
Salary: £24,309.07 per annum plus an opportunity to earn an additional £2,600 per annum based on an average of 1 sleep-ins per week, however this may increase.
Location: Rhyl
Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-time – 37 hours per week (on a rota basis, working days, evenings, waking nights and weekends)

About the Service
Our Tan Y Bryn Residential Service (winner of the 2022 Stephenson Award for Service of the Year) in Rhyl is a five-bedded therapeutic residential home for children and young people between the ages of 7-17 years.
We provide support for young people who are likely to have experienced early childhood trauma. You would be a part of a dynamic team to support and encourage our young people to reach their full potential. Some young people may experience low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and have poor communication skills which can lead to disruptive behaviours and a positive compassionate attitude is paramount.
About the role
Our Residential Support Worker is an entry level role where you don\’t need previous experience or qualifications, we\’re looking for a positive attitude and the desire to give the best care to children and young people. This is a great opportunity to get your \’foot in the door\’ and allows you to explore the field of Social Care and decide if it\’s the right fit for you, whilst gaining practical experience.
You\’ll create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, ensuring wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. It\’s key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

How you\’ll help to create brighter futures
You\’ll be engaging in enjoyable activities both within the project and within the community. You\’ll be assuming responsibility for the personal care and daily routines of the young individuals, providing support with personal hygiene, communication, administering of medication and ensuring the safeguarding of our young people by accurate recording and reporting.

Ideally you\’ll:
- Understand how to engage with young people.

- Be ready to complete a level 3 in Health and Social Care within 2 years of commencing employment with us, fully funded by us.
- UK driving license with access to transport, for the purposes of transportation of service users to appointments and school runs.
