Job Description
Salary: £26,100 per annum, pro rata
Location: Cumnock, East Ayrshire.
Contract/Hours: Permanent / We have a variety of Full Time, Part Time and causal hours available

A bit about the role
\’Meeting new people. Seeing new places. Doing new things.\’ That\’s what our Lisalanna Short Breaks services are all about. These breaks offer disabled children and young people the chance to have fun, gain independence, and develop new skills, while giving families a much-needed opportunity to rest and recharge.
As a Residential Support Worker, you\’ll be supporting young people aged 5 to 21 in reaching their full potential. Your role will involve assessing their needs, setting goals, and regularly reviewing their progress. By creating a safe, fun, and stimulating environment, you\’ll contribute to their overall development and well-being.
You\’ll take part in a wide range of activities, both at the service and out in the community. These include trips to local shops, parks, the cinema, soft play centres, youth clubs, the beach, swimming, and more. You\’ll also support daily routines, help develop life skills, provide personal care, and administer medication-following appropriate training.

How you\’ll help to create brighter futures
Some key responsibilities of the Residential Support Worker roles are;

  • Providing lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
  • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
  • Attending professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
  • Supporting children and young people with medical needs.
  • Assisting the children and young people in all aspects of their care, supporting their health and wellbeing where you\’ll significantly improve their lives.
  • Taking the lead role and having key-working responsibilities.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We\’re looking for someone with a \’can do\’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you\’ll have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust.
  • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families.
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
