The predicted salary is between 30000 - 30700 £ per year.

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience PLUS £700 on call allowance per annum (£30,700 per annum)

Location: High Wycombe, Bucks.

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-time working 37 hours a week.

A bit about the role:

Merryfields is a 14 bed Short Break Residential Service providing 24-hour care for 5 – 18 year olds with moderate to severe learning disabilities. We strive and work towards providing top tiered person–centered care. We also hold various activities on a day-to-day basis to encourage social experiences and promote equality and diversity throughout the service.

We are looking for a Team Leader to manage and lead a team of residential professionals and other staff as directed in the delivery of a 24 hour rota (including management of shifts). You will be passionate, committed, and resilient and yes, this role can at times be emotionally and physically challenging but it is also fun, diverse and you will feel a huge sense of reward by being able to help, in the best way possible.

You will help our Young People by:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships by providing emotional/social support to young people, who can display challenging emotional and social difficulties, this includes supporting with personal care
  • Taking the lead with case/care planning management for children or young people
  • Carrying out regular reviews of young people’s paperwork and package of support, in conjunction with the children, young people, their families and professionals from their wider support
  • Supervising, guiding, directing and training the staff team and volunteers where required and provide induction
  • Attending professional meetings including reviews, safeguarding conferences / court work, EHC planning meetings etc.
  • Deputising in the manager's absence, liaising with stakeholders and a range of other professionals and by taking the lead in specific areas of the service such as compliance, health and safety and service monitoring

  • A minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce Social Care Pathway/Residential Care or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a supervisory/management role
  • Experience in managing and prioritising work
  • A commitment to going that extra mile
  • Experience of working with children with challenging behavioural/emotional and complex needs
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding
  • A driving licence is desirable as we work closely as a cluster of services across Aylesbury and High Wycombe and travel may be required for this purpose and for attending training and meetings
