Location: High Wycombe

Contract / Hours: Casual – shifts: 7am‑3pm, 2pm‑10pm, 9.30pm‑7.30am (waking nights). Varied hours – choose around studies, family, retirement, or home life.

About the Service

Merryfields is a 14‑bed short break residential service providing 24‑hour care for 5‑to‑18 year‑old children with moderate to severe learning disabilities, offering person‑centred care and social activities to promote inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk
  • Coordinate responsibilities within the service, work with multi‑agency partners, and produce family information, analysis and written reports
  • Attend professional meetings, reviews, and court work
  • Lead shifts with the primary aim of provision of a high‑quality service
  • Supervise and guide staff as required, in line with policies and procedures
  • Lead by example in applying policy procedures, professional practice standards, and registration requirements

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
  • Safeguarding experience and training
  • Innovative and creative problem‑solving approach
  • Experience developing tailored care plans
  • Ability to create a safe and fun environment for staff and children at home and in the community
