A bit about the role: As a Housing Support Practitioner, your primary responsibility will be providing assistance to young individuals between the ages of 16-21 years who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness in the local area. Our role is centred around supporting them to realise their full potential. Rossorry Grove Supported Accommodation serves as a home for 13 young people, and as a Housing Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for aiding them in managing their day-to-day lives and facilitating access to specialised services that will help address the various challenges our young people may encounter. You will play a vital role in preparing them for their future endeavours.
How you'll help to create brighter futures:
- Engaging with vulnerable young people.
- Working with our young people in small groups and/or on an individual basis depending on their needs.
- Working alongside other staff teams and outside organisations to ensure the best outcome for the young people.
- Ensuring progress is monitored, recorded, and reviewed at set intervals, putting in additional support where required to ensure goals are met.
- Mentoring and supporting other members of the team.
Let's talk about you:
- Extensive experience of working with vulnerable young people aged 16-21 years in a formal setting.
- Diploma Level 3 or above in youth work or social care related qualifications.
- NISCC Registration or the willingness to register.
- The ability to work as part of a team and engage in a 24/7 rota that will include evenings, nights, and weekend work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Demonstrate a willingness to engage in all associated training and learning related to the role.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car is a necessity.
