Contract/Hours: Permanent / Full Time – 37 hours per week

A bit about the role:
As an Employment Facilitator, you’ll play a key role in delivering tailored employability support to young people. You’ll provide one‑to‑one guidance, help them identify their strengths, and support them in taking practical steps toward employment, training, or further education. Working closely with colleagues and partners, you’ll create outcome‑focused action plans, review progress regularly, and offer ongoing aftercare to ensure each young person feels supported throughout their journey. This is a hands‑on, rewarding role where you’ll make a meaningful difference in helping young people unlock their potential. We’re open to people joining us from a variety of backgrounds. This role could be a wonderful first step if you’ve recently completed a qualification, or it might be the next chapter in your journey if you already have experience in youth work or employability. However you come to us, you’ll be joining a team that’s passionate about improving life chances for young people across Glasgow.
About the Service:
Our Employability Service supports young people aged 16–24 who face barriers to making positive choices about their future. We work with those who may be struggling to access education, training, or employment, offering a supportive, youth‑centred environment where they can explore opportunities and build the foundations for long‑term success. Through personalised programmes and strong partnerships with local organisations, we help young people develop the skills, motivation, and direction they need to move forward with confidence.
What you do could make a difference:
Some key responsibilities of an Employment Facilitator are:
- Working in line with Action for Children’s standards and professional practice expectations and helping to put these into everyday practice.
- Supporting and coordinating a caseload of young people, offering a range of tailored interventions, whether through group sessions, coordinated activities, or one‑to‑one support, to help them move towards the labour market.
- Delivering engaging group‑work modules that contribute to our wider employability programmes, encouraging inclusion and recognising different learning styles.
- Keeping all compliance requirements up to date and accurate, ensuring we meet the needs of both the organisation and our stakeholders.
Let’s talk about you:
An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Guidance, or a similar area would be helpful, but we’re equally open to applicants who bring relevant experience instead of a formal qualification. Experience working with young people in group settings, particularly those facing multiple barriers, would be really valuable. An understanding of the challenges young people face when trying to access employment will help you thrive in this role.
