Salary: £29,000 per annum plus £700 on call allowance - £29,700 per annum

Contract/Hours: Fixed term contract for 2 years - Full Time - 37 hours a week (Some evening and weekend work is required).

Location: Dorset

A bit about the role:

Dorset Nightstop provides safe, secure emergency accommodation for Dorset young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Nightstop service welcomes Young People into the home of a fully trained volunteer host providing them with a safe haven whilst more permanent solutions are found. The role is home‑based with travel required to an office in Ferndown, and other areas across Dorset (mileage and time from your home in Dorset is reimbursed).

How you’ll help to create brighter futures:

  • Coordinate the safer recruitment, induction, training, and supervision of volunteers, ensuring they are well equipped to carry out their roles competently and confidently.
  • Recruitment training and ongoing support of volunteers.
  • Managing the referral assessing the risk and supporting young people whilst they stay with Nightstop volunteer hosts.
  • Liaising with service providers (housing and social care) to gain a longer‑term solution for the young person’s housing needs.
  • Promote the service using all forms of communication including social media to referrers and young people who could use the service.
  • Provide quarterly data to fundraisers and the Nightstop Board.

Let’s talk about you:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people and families
  • Experience of managing and supervising volunteers or other workers and delivering training
  • Skills in assessing and managing risk in relation to safeguarding and health and safety concerns
  • IT literate including some knowledge of Excel
  • Live locally – within Dorset
  • Access to a car. (The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.)
