The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

Salary: c£30,000 plus £3,333 Inner London Allowance per annum pro rata.

Location: London. (Hybrid working).

Contract: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months, 35 hours per week.

29 days annual leave PLUS bank holidays, with up to 5 additional days for continuous service and option to buy or sell leave.

A bit about the role: This is an exciting opportunity to join Action for Children as an Events Officer on a Fixed Term Contract. You will support the delivery of high value fundraising and stewardship events within the team’s UK-wide portfolio and provide exemplary day to day support to some of Action for Children’s closest and most important supporters. It is an exciting time to join the team as they continue to expand the high-value events portfolio, to help drive vital income growth.

How you’ll help to create brighter futures by:

  • Working with colleagues to deliver a schedule of external events that will enable the charity to achieve its vision and mission.
  • Working with colleagues to deliver a schedule of internal events to engage and inspire staff (i.e., staff conferences, awards and webinars).
  • Developing long-term relationships with high value committee members and supporters to deliver challenging income targets.
  • Working with the Events Manager to deliver the annual business activity plan for the team.
  • Using creative, engaging methods of written and verbal communications to successfully negotiate with suppliers and external contacts.
  • Working collaboratively with the Stakeholder Communications team to evaluate events and generate an ideas framework.
  • Producing high quality event materials and supporting with the logistical planning of events.

Experience required:

  • Experience of working on a successful fundraising event or campaign.
  • Experience of developing positive working relationships with supporters, donors and volunteers.
  • Experience of working collaboratively within an organisation.
  • Experience of working with high value fundraising committees or boards.
  • Experience of developing compelling fundraising materials.
  • Ability to work flexibly, independently and as an effective team member.
  • Ability to build rapport, motivate others and inspire commitment to the charity and the cause.
  • Ability to perform under pressure to ensure the delivery of all events and fundraising activities in a safe and professional manner.
