Role: Cleaner

Salary: £26,510 per annum (pro-rata)

Location: Sandwich, Kent

Contract/Hours: Permanent/Part Time – 10 hours per week – 6pm – 8pm Mon- Fri

About the nursery:

Saint Barts is an established nursery running for over 20 years, providing high quality care and education for children up to the age of eleven across both our nursery and out of school setting. Set within a beautiful grade 2 listed manor house, surrounded by an acre of gardens, our nursery offers a warm, homely atmosphere where children can learn and explore in a safe, stimulating environment.

A bit about the role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated cleaner at our Nursery in Sandwich Kent. In this role, you play a crucial part in maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for the children in our care. You will be working alongside one other member of staff and be responsible for sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming, cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, kitchens and common areas, ensuring that all areas are kept tidy and free from hazards, checking and maintaining stock levels of cleaning supplies, and adhering to health and safety standards.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertaking cleaning of designated premises, work and service areas, as detailed in the cleaning schedule ensuring completion within the set timescales.
  • Maintaining a stock of cleaning supplies necessary to complete tasks and where necessary, alert management to the need to replenish the stock.
  • Being responsible for the safe use and storage of cleaning materials, in line with Health & Safety at Work Regulations and Action for Children policies.

What we need from you:

  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations (desirable).
  • Good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative when required.
  • A good knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety at work would be beneficial.
