A bit about the role

We’re looking for an organised and proactive Business Support Officer to join our team, providing essential administrative support across three children’s residential services. Based primarily at Willow Lodge, you’ll also spend one day each week supporting our Yew Tree House service and one day at our Nottingham Residential service. You’ll be required to travel between our residential services as part of your working week, so the ability to travel independently between services is a requirement of the role. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll support Registered Managers and operational teams with a wide range of administrative tasks, helping our services run smoothly so colleagues can focus on delivering outstanding care to children and young people.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing high-quality administrative support across three residential services.
  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices.
  • Managing petty cash and supporting routine financial administration.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Producing correspondence, reports and other documentation.
  • Supporting meetings, including organising paperwork and taking minutes where required.
  • Updating internal databases and ensuring information is accurate and compliant.
  • Working closely with Registered Managers and colleagues to provide an efficient business support service.
  • Welcome visitors and act as a professional first point of contact when required.

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience working in a busy administrative or office environment.
  • Business Administration Level 2 (or equivalent) or relevant administrative experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A positive, flexible approach and willingness to support the wider team.
  • Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Ability to travel regularly between our services during the working day is essential.

You don’t need to be an expert in finance. We’ll provide training on our systems and processes, so if you’re comfortable working accurately with invoices and financial records, we’d still love to hear from you.

About the services

Our residential services provide safe, nurturing homes where children and young people can thrive. Working alongside dedicated colleagues, you’ll help ensure our homes operate efficiently, enabling frontline teams to focus on delivering the highest quality care and support.

Recruitment process

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive a high volume of suitable applications. The selection process is expected to begin with Microsoft Teams interviews during the week commencing the 24th August, followed by a second-stage face-to-face interview.
