The predicted salary is between 22000 - 25000 £ per year.

Salary: £23,151.50 per annum, pro rata which equates to £22,490.

Location: Ballymena, Northern Ireland.

Contract/Hours: Permanent, working 34 hours a week Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-1pm.

About the service:

Ballymena & Little Steps Sure Start provides a range of health, play & learning and parenting support services to children, from pre-birth up to four years, and their families. The project comprises a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team and works in close partnership with a range of local statutory, voluntary and community service providers to promote effective service delivery in response to the needs of the expectant parents, children, and families across the designated SureStart areas.

We are looking for an Administrative Officer to join our friendly team and offer valued support through a range of administrative services. You will be first point of contact for our operational colleagues, welcoming all internal and external visitors to the service, making sure everyone has a wonderful experience. You will share responsibility for the delivery of a high quality, effective, efficient, administrative service that is flexible to meet the needs of operational teams to enable the service to achieve the agreed SureStart service objectives.

How you’ll help to create brighter futures:

  • Providing a wide range of administrative and front of house services within a large multi-disciplinary children and families’ service.
  • Organising and progressing the full range of activities associated with the management of business meetings, ensuring efficient and effective planning for a single or series of meetings.
  • Providing written reports to meet the needs of management reporting in line with regulatory standards.
  • Undertaking desktop research on behalf of colleagues and management for presentation and analysis.
  • Ensuring the input of SureStart activity data and contribute to SureStart activity monitoring by producing timely reports and attending meetings.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:

  • Business Administration Diploma Level 2 or equivalent qualification or work experience.
  • Experience of working in an administration environment.
  • Experience of using PCs on a business network running MS Windows and Office, along with Email and Internet and specific business applications.
  • To be able to work within a team environment, demonstrating tact and diplomacy with other members of staff and where necessary to direct and guide.
  • Effective communication, both written and oral, to a range of different personnel.
  • The willingness to undertake all relevant training required for this position, e.g. Activity Monitoring database – SureStart Go and Finance/Property recording and reporting systems.
  • The ability to work flexibly across all 3 sites in the Antrim and Ballymena localities.
  • The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
