We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Yard Marshall / Banksman to join our busy transport operation. This is a key role within the yard, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, trailers, and staff.
The Role:
- Marshalling and directing HGVs and other vehicles safely within the yard
- Acting as a banksman for reversing and manoeuvring vehicles
- Ensuring all movements are carried out in line with health & safety procedures
- Communicating clearly with drivers and the traffic office
- Monitoring yard activity and reporting any issues or damages
- Keeping the yard organised, safe, and running smoothly
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Yard Marshall, Banksman, or similar role (preferred but not essential)
- Counter Balance Forklift License (expired or in-house license is fine but must have proof)
- Good awareness of health & safety in a transport environment
- Confident communicating with drivers and colleagues
- Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced yard
- High level of attention to detail and safety
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Applicant MUST have their own transport as we are rural and not on a public transport route
Hours & Pay:
- Monday to Friday 12:00 19:30 £13.10 per hour
- 1 Saturday per month 8am-12pm
