About the Role:
We're looking for a hardworking, reliable and enthusiastic Warehouse & Yard Operative to join our busy transport and logistics team. This is a varied, hands-on role that involves working both inside the warehouse and outside in the yard, whatever the weather. No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who isn't afraid of hard work, enjoys keeping busy and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed. A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading vehicles using a counterbalance forklift.
- Moving freight safely around the warehouse and yard.
- Picking, sorting and preparing consignments for dispatch.
- Manual handling of boxes and parcels.
- Keeping the warehouse and yard clean, tidy and organised.
- Sweeping, general housekeeping and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Washing company vehicles when required.
- Assisting with stock control and warehouse organisation.
- Supporting the team with the day-to-day running of the operation and helping wherever required.
- Following all company health and safety procedures.
About You:
- Holds a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
- Is physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling throughout the day.
- Is happy working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Enjoys a varied role and isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up.
- Takes pride in keeping the workplace clean, tidy and organised.
- Is reliable, punctual and has a strong work ethic.
- Works well as part of a team but can also use their own initiative.
- Has previous warehouse or transport industry experience (preferred but not essential).
- Has their own reliable transport, as our site is not served by public transport and is not within walking distance of local amenities.
