About Us

BSA is a new but fast-growing UK drama school with a high-quality conservatoire-style training school, offering an innovative BA in Film TV and New Media Acting and a BA Acting for Stage and Screen as well as new Cert HE Foundation course and a BA Technical Theatre Arts course. Our full-time Extended Diplomas for 16-18 year olds in Acting and Musical Theatre are widely acknowledged as some of the best in the region. We are at an important time in our development and need to establish our place in the top 20 actor training establishments in the UK.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Communications and Partnerships Manager to develop and implement an integrated communication, public relations and partnership strategy to enhance BSA’s brand identity. The focus will be to build lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with external partners and stakeholders in theatre, TV and film, broaden our audience, and drive growth in student numbers by developing a more prominent profile in the industry. This role is Bristol based with some requirement to network in London. The role will be office based for a minimum of 4 days a week, if full time. As a public facing role, the post holder is expected to be at the first night of every BSA production, screenings and showcases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnership Management: Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships to drive the visibility of BSA in the industry, including working with industry liaison partners to extend BSA’s reach among agents and casting directors.
  • Strategic Brand Communications: Develop and deliver engaging communications strategies to support the business and elevate our brand presence.
  • Press and PR Communications: Lead the development of the PR strategy for BSA, driving national press around BSA’s core purpose.
  • Advertising Campaigns: Develop a coherent brand narrative strategy that promotes BSA, its students and its core programmes to meet application targets.
  • Content Creation oversight: Oversee the work of social media content creators to control social media content across a range of appropriate platforms are brand aligned.

About You

  • Experience: Proven experience in partnership development and communications and PR in a drama school or theatre, TV or film environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of the theatre/ TV and film industries and/or the conservatoire drama school sector.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and potential partners and build trust quickly.
  • Proactive Leader: A strategic, creative thinker who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Campaign management: An appreciation for the process of creating and managing campaigns, both digitally and in print media.
