We are looking to hire a Project Engineer on a full‑time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Wokingham, the Project Engineer will be responsible for delivering structural monitoring projects from concept through to installation and commissioning. Act as the technical link between the client, engineering, and delivery teams. You take ownership of technical scope, coordinate across functions, and ensure systems are built, tested, and installed to the required standard. This role suits someone hands‑on, well organised, and comfortable managing multiple live projects at different stages. You stay close to the detail while keeping delivery on track.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
- Support delivery of multiple projects at the same time, across design, build, test, and installation phases.
- Work with Project Managers to meet schedule, budget, and technical requirements.
- Track engineering deliverables, risks, and changes through the project lifecycle.
- Take full ownership of smaller projects where required.
Technical Coordination
- Act as the main technical interface between client, engineering teams, procurement, and production.
- Translate client requirements into clear engineering scope and deliverables.
- Ensure alignment between mechanical, electrical, systems, and software disciplines.
- Resolve technical queries quickly to maintain project progress.
Client Interface
- Lead technical discussions with clients during design, delivery, and installation phases.
- Respond to client queries and provide clear technical explanations.
- Attend client meetings and site visits as required.
- Build strong working relationships to support successful delivery.
Engineering & Integration
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure solutions meet client and project requirements.
- Support system integration across hardware and software components.
- Provide hands‑on support and troubleshooting during build and test phases.
Procurement & Production Interface
- Work with procurement to define technical specifications and manage supplier inputs.
- Support production during system assembly and build.
- Ensure materials and components meet project requirements and timelines.
Testing
- Plan and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT / SFAT).
- Take an active, hands‑on role during testing and fault finding.
- Ensure all actions are closed prior to deployment.
Installation & Commissioning
- Attend site or offshore locations to support installation and commissioning.
- Oversee installation activities to ensure systems are set up correctly.
- Work with offshore teams, subcontractors, and clients on site.
- Support system commissioning and initial performance validation.
Documentation & Control
- Work closely with document control to ensure all project documents are issued, tracked, and submitted on time.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project documentation in line with company processes.
- Ensure document revisions, approvals, and client submissions are managed correctly.
- Support project close‑out documentation and deliverables.
Essential
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or similar.
- Experience in a project or engineering delivery environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience with system testing and integration activities.
- Familiar with project tracking tools and structured delivery processes.
- Hands‑on and practical, comfortable working with equipment and systems.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities at once.
