b Overview /b p As Head of Legal, you will lead the legal, contractual, and compliance agenda across ASE’s international operations, ensuring risks are managed without hindering commercial opportunities. You will partner with the leadership, commercial, and engineering teams to shape contract strategy, disputes, and governance. You’ll advise on engineering services, framework and master agreements, and liability matters, while embedding compliance and IP protections. This role offers strategic influence across a fast-paced, growth-focused engineering business with global reach. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Highly competitive salary /li li 26 days holiday plus public holidays /li li Life Assurance /li li Company Pension Scheme /li li Private medical insurance /li li Electric Vehicle Scheme (eligibility) /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Provide timely legal advice on contracts, tenders, and compliance across ASE. /li li Draft, review, and negotiate contracts using ASE templates and standard forms (LOGIC, BIMCO, FIDIC, IMCA). /li li Advise on professional liability, liability caps, insurance alignment, and risk allocation in projects. /li li Support cross-border project delivery and ensure appropriate contractual positions between advisory services and EPC/turnkey delivery. /li li Promote compliance with laws, sanctions, export controls, anti-bribery, data protection, and industry standards. /li li Liaise with Group Compliance and act as a governance liaison for ASE. /li li Manage disputes and coordinate with external counsel; oversee claims management and risk reduction. /li li Provide training on legal, contractual, and compliance matters and stay updated on engineering, offshore energy, and governance developments. /li li Contribute to Group Legal initiatives, knowledge sharing, and template development. /li li Lead and develop the legal/contracts team and foster a collaborative, commercially oriented support model. /li li Support corporate governance activities and interaction with the Group Company Secretariat. /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Qualified solicitor with current practising certificate in England, Scotland, the US, or another common law jurisdiction. /li li Minimum 5 years’ PQE in-house or private practice. /li li Strong knowledge of contract and commercial law and regulatory compliance. /li li Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts. /li li Experience in EPC contract negotiations and managing disputes with external counsel. /li li Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills. /li li Ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams; engage with senior management and technical specialists. /li li Attention to detail and ability to prioritise competing demands. /li li Experience in engineering consultancy or offshore energy sectors preferred. /li /ul ul li strong negotiation skills /li li clear communication /li li stakeholder management /li li contract law /li li commercial law /li li regulatory compliance /li /ul
