The Geo-Services Business Line works globally and specialises in marine surveys, site characterization, and digital solutions to optimize the design and installation of marine structures for the offshore wind, oil & gas and near shore sectors.
The Visa and Immigration Specialist is required to facilitate the movement worldwide of offshore field staff, to ensure they can legally enter and work in designated project countries and offshore and assists Operations and Project Teams by managing and processing visa and immigration applications, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Their responsibilities include assisting with application preparation, providing guidance, and representing clients in immigration matters. They work with Geoservices business units globally, as required, and liaise with government agencies, often dealing with complex cases and staying up to date on evolving immigration policies.
Location: Aberdeen (hybrid working)
Role Description
•Application processing: reviewing applications, verifying documents, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
•Guidance and support: providing advice and support to internal clients on visa and immigration procedures, requirements and potential issues.
•Document preparation: assisting with the preparation and submission of necessary forms, applications, and supporting documentation.
•Compliance and Updates: maintaining knowledge of current immigration laws, regulations, and procedures, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
•Communications: maintaining clear and consistent communication with internal clients and stakeholders, providing updates on application status, and addressing their concerns.
•Relationship Management: building and maintaining strong relationships with internal clients, stakeholders, and relevant authorities.
•Problem Solving: identifying and resolving complex immigration issues, utilizing analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Record Keeping: maintaining accurate and organised records of all immigration-related activities and documentation.
•Sourcing visa agents, as required.
•Providing guidance to visa applicants on process and paperwork.
•Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
•Extensive experience in immigration law or a related field
•Previous experience working in an offshore or marine environment.
•A strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures is essential.
