Acteon Geo-Services are looking to source a Tender Manager on a full time, permanent basis. The Tender Manager is responsible for all stages of the tendering process in the respective Business Unit, including opportunity identification, pre-qualification, proposal preparation, clarifications with clients, contract/project awards and handover of successful tenders to the projects and operations teams, as well as supporting the development of junior team members and managing the commercial cost base and/or bid estimating tool.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Take ownership of the delivery of assigned pre-qualification, request for information and tendering requirements executed by the Business Unit team (generally larger value complex tender submissions) including coordinating inputs from all departments into the final proposal submission package to a professional standard and seeking the relevant leadership approvals, as necessary.
•Prepare cost estimates using the approved Bid Estimating Tool including sourcing external costs as required.
•Prepare commercial, and co-ordinate technical and contractual input into proposal risk assessments, clarifications, qualifications, and approvals.
•Prepare and deliver a comprehensive handover for awarded work, transferring knowledge and responsibility for the work scope to Projects and Operations.
•Provide ongoing general support to Projects and Operations concerning any tender stage queries/clarifications.
•Seek client feedback for unsuccessful opportunities.
•Assist in the continuous improvement of cost estimating and collection methods, processes and procedures that will result in consistent tendering going forward and deliver increased margin performance.
•Assist in the collection of 360-degree feedback Projects and Operations from live work scopes that will result in consistent tendering going forward and deliver increased margin performance.
•Perform inductions of new starts into the Commercial Department alongside the Commercial Manager.
•Act as a mentor to Proposals Specialists and other junior team members.
•Participate in any commercial initiatives/performance objectives that identify areas for performance improvement and any adjustments to the Company, and/or any processes and tools.
•Act as ambassador for the Commercial Department.
•Act as ambassador of Acteon\’s Core Values.
•Attend external client/subcontractor events as and when requested to do so.
•Attend role-relevant industry events as and when requested to do so.
•Act as the delegate of the Commercial Manager as and when requested to do so.
•Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by the Commercial Manager and/or Leadership Team.
Required
•Degree qualified in a Business Studies/Law or similar discipline, however relevant industry experience in a Survey/offshore Oil & Gas/Renewables related environment will be considered.
•Relevant commercial experience (at least 5 years’ experience).
•Business acumen, with a strong commercial aptitude.
•Ability to work independently, with a strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation.
•Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others.
•Ability to manage multiple and fast-track priorities, with assistance/direction.
•Proactive and positive to changes and challenges.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint is essential.
•Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
