We combine experienced Project Engineering and fast track Design and R&D capability with huge inventory of rapid call off tooling, to deliver to our clients. Across a vast array of drilling riser systems, well abandonment equipment and structures, Claxton delivers pragmatic, safe reliable solutions to the operating challenges faced by our clients. We have a Global team with a singular mission, to make our clients projects happen.

Claxton are looking to source a Supply Chain Manager on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, the Supply Chain Manager will manage the procurement and inventory functions across the Great Yarmouth site, assuming direct responsibility for the procurement and inventory teams

The role will be responsible for development and implementation of a procurement strategy, focused on strategic initiatives both internally and externally. The identification of supply chain risk, supplier development and improvement with the objectives of ensuring a robust and reliable supply chain to support the business needs, whilst maximising internal efficiency in terms of processing and management. Ensure that the business has robust inventory controls in place, that are demonstrated through a transparent cycle count rhythm and oversee a responsive transactional service. With a further requirement to drive initiatives within the business to optimise the site inventory balance.

Duties & Main Responsibilities
•Day to day management of supply chain team at the site, responsible for the tactical execution of purchasing and inventory functions.
•Communicate effectively & clearly with other functions in the business to drive positive changes and improvements within the business.
•Supporting the Group Supply Chain Manager in meeting the group and site supply chain KPI’s and initiatives.
•Ensure that all requests for purchase are actioned within a timely manner and that the department delivers the required service quality to all internal customers.
•To negotiate and place Purchase Orders, ensuring schedule reporting and delivery promises are maintained by vendors with information communicated to the requestor and any other stakeholders.
•Implementation of sourcing strategies to maximise cost savings and reduction of lead times.
•Directly facilitate, support, or lead internal department/supplier meetings for analysis/research for future work scopes.
•Manage and develop relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.
•Attend commercial bid/project handover meetings to ensure that requirements are identified at the earliest opportunity and where applicable customer terms and conditions can be mirrored with suppliers
•Establish, build, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to mitigate risk, deliver high quality goods and services, to the required timeline at the best price / terms.
•Alongside the Group Supply Chain Manager, consolidate and leverage direct and indirect spend where beneficial. Negotiate and manage Master Service Agreements (MSA’s) with key suppliers, to provide commercial benefit to the business.
•Review and negotiation of terms and conditions and payment terms when necessary.
•Managing supplier performance to ensure output is in line with SLA’s and KPI’s.
•Liaise with the Group Supply Chain Manager and QHSE department to ensure supplier audit schedules and NCRs are adequate, actioned and resolved in a timely manner.
•Supporting and developing the inventory team, ensuring that inventory transactions, records and activities are completed accurately, in a timely manner and in accordance with Claxton’s procedures.
•Employ proactive inventory management principles such as cycle counts, metrics, aging stock reports and min/max stock levels.
•Ongoing management / reduction of the slow-moving stock value for the site through increased visibility to the business, 3rd party resellers or other means.
•People development and driving the growth of skills and knowledge within the supply chain team
•Set-up and monitor regular goals and objectives for all direct reports, including end of year reviews.
•Hold regular meetings with each team member manage performance
•Actively promote the Claxton Brand Values.
•Manage recruitment and interview process to fulfil personnel requirements, including contractor management

Required
•CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply) qualified or similar qualification
•Understanding of Supply Chain functions and systems.
•Ability to review and negotiate contracts and terms and conditions.
•Minimum 5 years’ experience of Supply Chain, Inventory and Procurement, both tactical and strategic.
•Supply agreements, negotiation, and implementation.
•Management experience of leading a team, goal setting and performance management.
•Experience using an ERP System
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
•Skilled negotiator.
•Good Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
•Commercial awareness.
