We are seeking a Quality Engineer on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Great Yarmouth, the Quality Engineer provides project quality assurance across the business, ensuring that projects, manufacturing activities, and supplier deliverables comply with company procedures, contract requirements, and applicable industry standards. The role works closely with Project Engineers, Supply Chain, QA/QC Inspectors, and suppliers to ensure quality requirements are clearly defined, properly implemented, and verified throughout the project lifecycle. The Quality Engineer identifies quality risks early, supports investigation of non-conformances and provides visibility of project quality performance to the QHSE Manager and leadership team.

Duties & Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects comply with the company Project Management Procedure and Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Review project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs/QITPs) and certification requirements to confirm compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
  • Conduct quality surveillance and spot checks throughout project execution to verify procedures and quality controls are being applied effectively.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers and Operations teams to identify and resolve quality risks during project execution.
  • Work with Supply Chain Management to ensure supplier quality requirements are clearly defined and understood.
  • Participate in supplier assessments and audits where technical manufacturing processes require quality oversight.
  • Monitor supplier deliverables, certification, and inspection results to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Identify potential quality risks arising from manufacturing processes, materials, or supplier performance.
  • Liaise with QA/QC Inspectors to ensure inspection activities align with project ITP requirements.
  • Perform quality surveillance and verification checks during manufacturing, assembly, and testing stages.
  • Witness tests, inspections or certification activities where required to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Lead or support investigation of internal, supplier and customer non-conformances (NCRs).
  • Ensure root causes are identified, and corrective actions are implemented and verified.
  • Monitor trends in non-conformances and identify opportunities to prevent recurrence.
  • Support capture and analysis of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) where applicable.
  • Support preparation for client, certification body, and internal audits.
  • Assist in responding to audit findings and ensuring actions are closed effectively.
  • Promote understanding and application of ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2 and relevant industry standards across the business.
  • Support the internal audit programme for Great Yarmouth.
  • Monitor and report on project quality performance and emerging risks.
  • Provide updates on quality issues to the QHSE Manager and leadership team.
  • Support initiatives that improve process effectiveness, supplier performance, and product quality.

Required

  • Experience working in engineering, manufacturing or project-based environments within oil & gas or related industries.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and related industry standards.
  • Experience with inspection processes, certification documentation, and supplier quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of non-conformance investigation and root cause analysis.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification desirable.
