We are looking to hire a Quality Assurance Lead on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Great Yarmouth, the Quality Assurance (QA) Lead will coordinate quality assurance activities supporting Great Yarmouth operations and projects, ensuring that all required certification and documentation for equipment is complete prior to dispatch. The role provides leadership to QA Technicians, interfaces with the Quality Engineer and Quality Control (QC) Inspector and ensures QA processes operate effectively.

Duties & Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate QA activities supporting equipment preparation and load-outs across site operations and projects.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to QA Technicians, ensuring certification and documentation tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Conduct regular 1-to-1 meetings with QA Technicians to review workload, performance, and development needs.
  • Ensure QA resources are effectively deployed to support operational and project requirements.
  • Review required equipment certification and documentation to confirm compliance with project, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Compile and maintain QA Data Packs and Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs) in accordance with project and IMS requirements.
  • Prepare and issue Certificates of Conformity (CoC) where required.
  • Ensure documentation from other disciplines (e.g. PUWER function checklists) is included within certification packs.
  • Verify that maintenance and inspection records (PMMs) are completed before approving equipment for shipment.
  • Coordinate third-party inspection and recertification activities including LOLER inspections, pressure system inspections, NDT, and other statutory inspections.
  • Ensure inspection documentation is captured and included within QA certification packs.
  • Ensure equipment certification and documentation requirements are verified prior to dispatch.
  • Ensure the QA section of the load-out list is completed and updated when QA verification activities are complete.
  • Confirm completed QA Data Packs are issued to Warehouse / Logistics to support equipment dispatch.
  • Provide QA input to relevant operations and project meetings to update equipment readiness and certification status.
  • Work closely with the Quality Engineer and QC Inspector to ensure project quality requirements are understood and met.
  • Liaise with Project Engineers, Asset Management and Operations teams to support project delivery and asset utilisation needs.
  • Conduct internal audits in accordance with the site audit programme.
  • Support client and third-party certification audits where QA documentation or processes are involved.
  • Identify opportunities to improve QA processes, certification systems, and documentation controls.
  • Support initiatives to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

Reporting and Collaboration

  • Provide updates on QA performance and issues to the QHSE Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Engineer, QC Inspector and HSE Advisors to support effective delivery of QHSE objectives.

Required

  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Mechanical, or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience working in oil and gas, energy or engineering environments involving equipment certification and inspection documentation.
  • Good understanding of industry standards and certification requirements relevant to oilfield equipment.
  • Experience compiling certification packs, QA Data Packs, Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs) or similar equipment documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing certification and documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate QA activities and manage competing priorities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with project teams, inspectors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to identify documentation issues and drive resolution.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to adapt to changing operational requirements.
