Advert Pulse, part of Acteon Group, are a market leader in subsea structural monitoring providing highly sophisticated monitoring systems and services to both oil & gas and renewables clients around the globe since 1998. Due to our ambitious growth plans we are looking to strengthen our team in a number of roles.
Role
Pulse are looking to hire a Production Technician on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Wokingham, the Production Technician will be responsible for the assembly, calibration, diagnostics, and testing of electrical and electronic systems used within structural monitoring. This is a hands-on role and requires a strong background in electrical assembly, instrumentation calibration, and fault diagnosis, supporting both onshore and offshore operations.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
- Assemble, wire and test complex instrumentation systems, electrical cabinets, and enclosures using schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Build and install control systems and low voltage AC&DC electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with Pulse’s QMS procedures and international standards (ISO, IEC, ASME, DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
- Support integration of Pulse’s INTEGRI product line with client applications.
- Assist in offshore and onshore commissioning, including mob/demob documentation and client sign-off.
- Perform detailed calibration of sensors and data acquisition systems, and equipment.
- Conduct functional testing and fault diagnosis of electronic systems prior to deployment.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure traceability of all equipment.
- Create and maintain manufacturing records, calibration certificates, inspection, and test plans.
- Prepare detailed reports including SIT, installation, maintenance, and lessons learned documentation.
- Interface with internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements and provide support during installations.
- Collaborate with internal teams (software, mechanical, procurement) to ensure seamless delivery.
- Provide feedback on drawings and support continuous improvement.
Required
- Technical qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, BS7671, or 18th Edition).
- Experience within calibration, diagnostics, and commissioning of electronic systems.
- Proficiency in soldering, PCB assembly, and use of electrical/mechanical measurement tools.
- Strong understanding of sensor technologies, electrical principles, and data acquisition systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to write documentation to support system build and design.
Desirable
- Experience in maritime or offshore electrical systems.
- Familiarity with DNV and Lloyd’s Register standards.
- Offshore experience and willingness to travel internationally.
- Background in regulated or quality-focused environments.
- Practical aptitude and ability to work under pressure during project delivery.
- Strong communication skills with a consultative approach.
