Claxton, part of the Acteon Group of subsea services businesses, combines experienced Project Engineering with rapid Design and R&D capabilities, supported by a large inventory of call-off tooling to deliver pragmatic, safe, and reliable solutions for clients facing operating challenges. Our global team is dedicated to making our clients' projects successful. We are seeking to hire a full-time, permanent Logistics Co-Ordinator based at our facility in Great Yarmouth. This role supports all aspects of shipping and logistics, ensuring customs clearance aligns with Claxton Engineering compliance procedures. The successful candidate will oversee the timely, cost-effective shipping of equipment, adhering to SOPs, policies, and legal requirements, handling all goods exported and imported by Claxton Engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create despatch notes for equipment dispatched
- Prepare import commercial invoices and clearance instructions
- Prepare export commercial invoices, despatch notes, and cargo summary tickets
- Liaise with freight forwarders for quotations and efficient worldwide shipping of subsea equipment
- Obtain export and import entries to complete logistical files for audits
- Provide logistical guidance on-site and identify shipping options
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Logistics teams to ensure import/export compliance and control
- Communicate with global colleagues regarding shipments and documentation
- Collaborate with Operations Manager to ensure operational compliance
- Manage and hyperlink all import/export and domestic documentation for record keeping
- Validate freight invoices
- Assist with internal import/export audits
- Support logistics at other Claxton sites as needed
- Participate in out-of-hours rota
- Create Purchase Orders to process freight invoices
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 standard grades or equivalent, including English and Maths
- Knowledge of Export Licence controls
- Understanding of import regimes (IPR, RGR, Duty Paid)
- Knowledge of shipping practices and handling methods
- Familiarity with Customs Procedure Codes and classification of goods
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods (IATA & IMDG)
- Understanding of COSHH and hazardous materials handling
- Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Logistics Co-Ordinator or in a similar role
- Experience in busy environments with fluctuating activity levels
- Proven track record in international exports/imports logistics
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Excellent organizational skills
