Claxton are looking to hire a Senior Logistics Co-Ordinator on a full time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, the Senior Logistics Co-Ordinator will support the business with all aspects of shipping and logistics. Ensure all customs clearance is in line with Claxton Engineering compliance procedures. They will be responsible for the timely, cost-effective shipping of all equipment whilst adhering to standard operating procedures and policies and applicable law. With responsibility for all goods exported and imported by Claxton Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Creation of despatch notes for equipment despatched
- Creation of Import commercial invoice & clearance instructions
- Creation of Export commercial invoices, despatch notes, cargo summary tickets
- Liaise with freight forwarders for quotations and to ensure efficient shipping of subsea equipment to worldwide destinations
- Obtain export and import entries to complete logistical files required to satisfy audit requirements.
- Provide logistical knowledge to all parties on site and identify means of shipping equipment.
- Liaise with all Warehouse and Logistics colleagues to ensure the efficient and accurate control of imports and exports, confirming full compliance with company and legislative requirements.
- Liaise with colleagues globally in relation to shipments and document control in international locations.
- Communicate with the Operations Manager when required to ensure operations are in line with requirements and are compliant.
- Hyperlink and manage all import, export, and domestic documentation to comply with standardised record keeping.
- Check and validate all freight invoices.
- Assisting with internal Import/Export auditing where appropriate
- Provide logistics support to other Claxton Engineering sites as required.
- Assist in the out of hours rota
- Creation of Purchase Orders to facilitate freight invoices.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 standard grades, or equivalent, at 3 or above including English and Maths
- Knowledge of Export Licence control
- Knowledge of all import regimes i.e. IPR / RGR / Duty Paid.
- Understanding of shipping practices and handling methods.
- Understanding of Customs Procedure Codes
- Knowledge of Classification of goods
- Dangerous Goods IATA & IMDG
- Knowledge of COSHH and hazardous materials handling.
- Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS
- 5 yearsβ experience in Logistics Co-Ordinator or similar role.
- Experience within busy environment with fluctuating activity levels.
- Proven exports/imports track record within international logistics
- Proficient I.T. skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Able to prioritise work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Advanced Organisation skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Accurate record keeping
