2H Offshore is a leading independent international consultancy at the forefront of offshore and subsea engineering. Our work involves the system design, structural and dynamic analysis, fabrication, installation management and integrity management of these structures for the offshore Renewables and Oil and Gas industries.
2H Offshore are looking to add a Junior Engineer to their expanding team in Aberdeen. As a Junior Engineer, you will be working with our experienced team to provide solutions and resolve technical design problems including the provision of deliverables such as 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering reports supported by engineering calculations. You will be expected to work under the guidance of senior engineers and designers to actively contribute to continuous development of 2H’s engineering capabilities and reputation. You will work across a wide variety of projects, encompassing engineering design and analysis at the conceptual, feasibility, FEED, detailed design, and/or installation stages.
This role includes a requirement to enrol in the Graduate Apprenticeship scheme, with 2H providing mentorship and full time employment while you are completing your Engineering – Design and Manufacture with the Robert Gordon University via the Graduate Apprenticeship scheme.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Generating 3D geometric models and technical drawings from a conceptual to detailed design level.
- Developing designs in 3D.
- Production and modification of technical drawings, and bills of materials.
- Maintaining design files & related documentation.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Providing technical sketches and images to project design teams.
- Ensuring that designs meet quality standards, functional requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Supporting the Design Engineer(s) with other tasks and activities as required.
Requirements
- Merit or above HNC or Merit or above HND, in a relevant engineering discipline will be considered.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and familiarity with drafting standards and best practices.
- Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and fabrication techniques.
- Be highly organised and able to work on own initiative.
- Ability and enthusiasm to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both written and verbal forms, with good inter-personal skills.
- Desire and ambition to achieve both technical and personal excellence by committing to personal and professional development.
- Ability to use MS Office applications.
- Fluent written and verbal English.
- Eligible to work in the UK.

Candidate must meet the entry requirements for the RGU - Graduate Apprenticeship scheme. 2H will provide sufficient protected time and mentorship for the candidate to succeed in gaining their BEng (Hon) degree in Engineering – Design and Manufacture with the Robert Gordon University (Graduate Apprenticeship Engineering: Design & Manufacture).
