UTEC are looking to hire a Business Development Manager – Site Investigation on a full-time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Aberdeen or Edinburgh, the focus will be on Business Development activities and Key Account management across UTEC Europe & Africa's Site Investigation service line to ensure stability of ongoing business and sales growth. Ongoing business needs to be maintained through strong relationship building skills and interaction with relevant clients. Growth is expected to come from selling UTEC services to new clients as well as identifying and introducing new services to existing ones.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
- Increase quantity and quality of new leads into the business and maintain client relationships throughout the sales, commercial and project life cycle.
- Form and build on long-term relationships with all key buying decision makers and influencers within the defined customers.
- Provide a consultative sales approach, to meaningfully engage with customers and address their challenges.
- Work towards meeting sales and revenue targets on a monthly and annual basis.
- Increase the breadth and depth of relationships in key accounts and use these to generate new business.
- Regular travel to meet with clients ensuring any customer satisfaction issues are picked up and dealt with from lead, to contract and execution/completion.
- Develop and maintain Account Plans for key customers including key relationships, strategy to maintain and increase business, projects in the pipeline and next actions in any sales situation.
- Manage the bid/tender process for targeted opportunities and close new profitable business.
- Report monthly on the forecast for current and new business.
- Collate information as necessary from the marketplace in the appointed area to provide market research, competitor analysis and develop market trends and strategy.
- Understand UTEC markets by maintaining networks and attending industry events.
- Support the Commercial team within EA for pre-qualifications, CRM management/inputs and other activities to serve the wider Sales and commercial function.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including, but not limited to, anti-bribery and foreign corrupt practices and ensure that they are communicated and implemented.
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by Line Manager.
Required
- Strong experience in a sales management or business development role, in an international organisation with a background in offshore services, energy markets or technical services.
- Proven track record managing success in sales in the offshore energy industry, preferably early phase site investigation geophysics and/or geotechnics.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering successful sales strategies using a recognised sales management process.
- Extensive experience in sales management, strong understanding of customer and market dynamics/requirements.
- Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the Company routinely operates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have or develop an in-depth understanding of the full range of offshore energy or UTEC's services.
- Ability to prioritise conflicting demands.
- Experience with MS Office software.
- Sets examples for company employees in areas of personal character, commitment, organisational and selling skills, and work habits.
- Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company departments and employees.
- Availability to travel regionally and on occasion internationally (24/7 where appropriate) and work as part of a global team.
