We are sourcing a CNC Machinist on a full time, permanent basis.
Based at their facility in Great Yarmouth, the CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining lathe and milling machines, reviewing drawings, instructions, or samples to ensure accurate production.
Duties
- Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines, reviewing drawings, instructions, or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings, as necessary.
- Maintains inventory of completed products.
- Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- To work in a clean safe and responsible manner following the 5’S’ system
- Programming, setting, and running CNC Machines
- Upkeeping and maintaining of tools and machinery
- Work in accordance with all company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and site-specific guidelines.
- Machine and manufacture equipment to customer and traveller specifications, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Carry out inspection and quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Maintain and ensure the correct use, upkeep, and storage of all personal protective equipment (PPE) and tooling.
- Complete all required internal training, certification, and competency assessments.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness across all workshop areas.
- Support a safe, efficient, and productive workshop environment at all times.
- Required
- Good standard of education, GCSE level or equivalent.
- Relevant engineering qualification or completed engineering apprenticeship.
- Experience programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery.
- Strong knowledge and experience of Mazak Mazatrol programming and operation, particularly Mazatrol T Plus systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
- Good understanding of measurement equipment, precision gauges, and inspection techniques.
- Ability to inspect, check, and verify own work to required quality standards.
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, ISO 9001, and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
- Computer literate with experience of workshop and production documentation systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Working knowledge of oilfield equipment and inspection requirements.
- Experience of Fanuc Series 0i-TF control systems.
- Previous experience within a precision engineering or oil and gas manufacturing environment.
