About the Role

Actemium Automation Hampshire is seeking an experienced and trusted AVEVA System Platform Specialist to join our growing automation team. In this role, you will lead the delivery of SCADA, supervisory control and digital manufacturing solutions across the UK water sector, applying your specialist knowledge throughout the full project lifecycle from concept and design through to development, testing, commissioning and long-term support. As part of VINCI Energies, you'll work alongside project managers, software engineers, and customers to deliver robust, scalable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical specialist for AVEVA System Platform, providing expertise throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Design, develop and implement AVEVA System Platform and ArchestrA-based SCADA solutions for major water sector automation projects.
  • Develop and maintain robust object templates, graphics, alarms, security models, historians, and application server architectures.
  • Integrate AVEVA solutions with PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, databases and industrial communication networks.
  • Produce high-quality functional design specifications, detailed design documentation and technical standards.
  • Lead system testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning and ongoing technical support activities.
  • Diagnose complex system issues and provide effective technical solutions across operational and project environments.
  • Support engineering estimates, technical reviews, project planning activities and customer workshops.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, promoting best practice and knowledge sharing across the business.
  • Ensure solutions comply with customer requirements, water industry standards, cybersecurity requirements and Actemium quality procedures.

About You

  • Proven experience delivering AVEVA System Platform, SCADA, DCS or industrial automation solutions within regulated industrial environments.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AVEVA System Platform, ArchestrA and InTouch - OMI.
  • Strong understanding of industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, process control systems and industrial communications.
  • Demonstrable experience leading testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and support activities for complex automation systems.
  • Ability to interpret and develop functional specifications, control philosophies, P&IDs, electrical drawings and system architectures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Recognised as a technical authority within your field, with the ability to influence technical decisions and drive best practice.
  • HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Control Systems, Automation or a related discipline.
  • Desirable: Experience within the UK water industry and knowledge of associated standards and practices.
  • Experience with SQL Server, scripting, industrial networking, virtualisation or OT cybersecurity.
  • AVEVA certifications or demonstrable expertise in AVEVA technologies.
  • Professional registration or membership of a relevant engineering institution.
