Home-based (with travel to our Ilkeston office and client sites in Slough) | Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Join Actemium Automation Nottingham, part of VINCI Energies, as an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a key client account based in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware project leader with a strong background in industrial automation and controls to oversee a portfolio of projects, build trusted client relationships, and drive operational excellence across a strategically important account.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of the successful delivery of multiple automation and control projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading end-to-end project delivery across the Slough account.
  • Acting as the primary project management contact for the client, building strong relationships and supporting the Client Account Manager.
  • Managing multidisciplinary teams including engineering, design, procurement, commissioning and subcontractors.
  • Overseeing project planning, reporting, risk management, change control and governance activities.
  • Managing project budgets, forecasting, invoicing and commercial claims to maximise profitability and cash flow.
  • Driving compliance with health, safety and environmental standards while promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Coordinating FAT, SAT and commissioning activities through to successful handover and project close-out.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the development of colleagues through coaching and mentoring.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering medium-to-large industrial automation or process control projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budget management, forecasting, contractual change and claims management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience serving as a key client contact.
  • Good understanding of industrial control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Experience with project planning, risk management and quality/governance processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
  • Engineering or project management qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.

Desirable

  • Project management accreditation such as APMP, PRINCE2 or PMP.
  • Experience within Actemium, VINCI Energies or a similar organisation.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell control platforms.
  • Experience leading FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
  • Understanding of industry regulations, safety standards and asset management practices within industrial environments.
