The Site Manager/Site Supervisor will oversee the on-site delivery of turnkey EV charging infrastructure projects, including all associated electrical & control systems, and civil construction works. This role ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while coordinating multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in electrical infrastructure construction and thrives in a dynamic, rapidly growing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management & Delivery
- Lead day-to-day site operations across EV charging infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate electrical, civil, and HV teams, including subcontractors, ICPs, and OEM suppliers.
- Manage installations of LV distribution, chargers, cable routes, ducting, foundations, switchgear, transformers, and 11/33kV connection works.
- Ensure compliance with drawings, RAMS, specifications, and DNO/ICP standards.
- Maintain detailed site records and daily progress reporting.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to CDM regulations.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and routine safety inspections.
- Manage permits to work, HV/LV safety protocols, and isolation procedures.
- Quality & Technical Oversight
- Ensure workmanship meets design intent and quality expectations.
- Review drawings, method statements, and technical documentation.
- Support testing, commissioning, and energisation activities.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and red-line drawings.
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, DNOs/IDNOs, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Attend progress meetings and technical coordination sessions.
- Communicate site progress, risks, and issues clearly and professionally.
- Planning & Logistics
- Plan daily/weekly works, labour allocation, and material deliveries.
- Coordinate plant, equipment, and specialist resources to avoid delays.
- Identify risks early and elevate appropriately.
Person Specification
- Essential
- Experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Foreman in electrical contracting, utilities, or HV/LV infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of HV/LV networks, substations, and civil works.
- Experience delivering EV charging, renewable energy, or grid-connected projects.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong leadership and subcontractor coordination skills.
- Excellent knowledge of CDM, site safety, and HV/LV procedures.
- Confident with digital systems, IT tools, and site reporting platforms.
- Full UK driving licence.
- SSSTS ECS/CSCS card.
- Desirable
- Experience working on DNO/ICP frameworks or contestable works.
- SMSTS HV/LV authorisations or experience working under HV/LV safety rules.
- Knowledge of EV charger OEM equipment and infrastructure technology.
- NVQ, HNC/HND, or a relevant electrical/construction qualification.
- ECS/CSCS Black Card.
