We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Stress Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting projects in the nuclear and highly regulated sectors.
This role is ideally suited to an engineer with strong expertise in pipeline stress analysis, seismic assessment and engineering calculations, capable of delivering technically robust solutions that meet regulatory, safety and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed stress analysis and flexibility assessments using industry-standard software.

Develop and verify engineering calculations for supports and mechanical equipment.

Produce stress reports, calculation packages and technical documentation.

Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards and project specifications.

Participate in design reviews, hazard studies and technical assurance activities.

Support site investigations, troubleshooting and engineering modifications as required.
Essential Skills & Experience

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Strong background in pipeline stress calculations or seismic analysis.

Proficiency with analysis software such as:

Mathcad

CAESAR II
-
ANSYS
-

Sound knowledge of relevant engineering codes and standards, including ASME B31.1, B31.3, EN13480, BS EN 13001, BS EN 1993 and seismic design requirements.

Ability to prepare and review detailed calculation notes and technical reports.
Desirable Experience

Experience within Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities or Process industries.

Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards professional registration.

Experience with finite element analysis (FEA).

Knowledge of Eurocodes and seismic design methodologies.
