Electric Vehicle Charger Installation & Service – Join the Actemium EV Team
As a JIB EV Charger Service Electrician, you will play a vital role in delivering safe and high-quality EV charger solutions for a range of commercial and public sites in and around Newcastle upon Tyne. Our projects support the future of the UK\'s electrified transport infrastructure—helping organisations meet their carbon targets through dependable, state-of-the-art charging systems.
Main Responsibilities – EV Charger Electrician (Newcastle upon Tyne)
- Carry out commissioning, servicing, and repair of electric vehicle charge points (AC & DC) to the highest industry standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and technical faults, completing accurate documentation using digital service systems.
- Undertake periodic inspections, preventative maintenance, and compliance testing on a variety of EV charging equipment and associated electrical panels.
- Apply knowledge of current wiring regulations, health & safety requirements, and manufacturer guidance to ensure safety and quality at all times.
- Liaise directly with clients and site personnel to deliver excellent customer service, clear communication, and safe working environments.
- Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergency support (additional payments apply).
- Proactively identify and report potential installation risks or improvement opportunities to optimise the customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and apprentices to deliver planned works on time and to specification.
Essential Skills & Experience – JIB Electrician for EV Chargers
- City & Guilds 2391 with ideally 2 years EV experience.
- City & Guilds 18th Edition (BS 7671) certification.
- Hands-on experience with electrical installation, maintenance, and testing (EV charger experience desirable but not essential—training provided).
- Sound understanding of electrical fault finding, safe isolation, and inspection & testing procedures.
- Commitment to health, safety, and site compliance standards.
- Full UK driving licence - willingness to travel throughout the North East primarily but some UK travel and nights away from home as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and customer-oriented approach.
- Team player mentality with the ability to work independently and take initiative as required.
