The role
Working on a key defence project, you will manage requirements across the full development cycle including:
- Requirements elicitation: Gather requirements from multiple sources and determine their applicability to a specific project
- Requirements definition: translating customer and user needs into clear, actionable, verifiable engineering requirements, define and document project goals
- Maintain context and structure: ensure requirements are complete and traceable and grouped for better organisation and clarity
- Verification and Validation: provide evidence based justifications to verify requirements of have been attained during the design phase and propose validation activities for subsequent manufacturing and testing phases
- Risk Management: Identifying, tracking, and mitigating risks related to requirements
- Substantiation & Traceability: Ensuring alignment with safety standards and maintaining traceability
What you’ll need
- Strong hands-on experience with requirements management tools
- The preferred candidate will have strong engineering design skills and the ability to assist the design team as well as oversee the management of project requirements
- The role will require initiative to gain a good understanding of the project and the ability to define the applicability of requirements with autonomy, requiring minimal input from others
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
- Degree-level qualification in engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Previous involvement in defence or other highly regulated/safety-critical sectors
