We are recruiting an experienced Site Manager to oversee the installation of windows and doors on a school project. This is a fast-paced, safety-critical environment, so you’ll need strong site leadership, great communication with school staff, and a focus on compliance, programme, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Leadership: Be the main point of contact on site for the client, main contractor, and Actaris team.
- Programme & Delivery: Plan daily activities to meet the project programme. Coordinate installers, materials, and deliveries.
- H&S & Compliance: Enforce RAMS, toolbox talks, PPE, and DBS requirements. Ensure CSCS cards checked. Maintain a safe site around children, staff, and public.
- Quality Control: Inspect window/door installations to spec, manufacturer details, and Building Regs Part L / Part K. Manage snagging.
- Subcontractor Management: Brief and manage install teams. Monitor productivity and sign off timesheets.
- Client Liaison: Attend site meetings. Issue progress reports and deal with any issues with the school/estates team with minimal disruption.
- Documentation: Maintain site diary, permits, waste transfer notes, and O&M/H&S file info.
Essential Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years managing window/door installations on commercial/education/public sector projects.
- Qualifications: SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card. DBS check required for school access.
- Technical: Knowledge of aluminium, UPVC, and curtain walling systems. Understanding of Part L, Part F, fire safety, and accessibility.
- Compliance: Full understanding of RAMS, COSHH, CDM 2015.
- Other: Full UK driving licence. Own vehicle preferred. Confident using MS Office / site apps.
