Join a dynamic team as an Environmental Field Technician, where you will execute specific asbestos, demolition, and environmental abatement tasks. Your role will involve cleaning and preparing project sites, working off ladders, lifts, or scaffolding, and operating mechanical equipment, hand tools, and power tools. We are seeking a dedicated professional who can understand and follow directions while maintaining a strong focus on safety at all times.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct field crews and subcontractors.
- Coordinate onsite work to ensure project completion in a safe and efficient manner.
- Implement project-specific work plans and manage crew labor and equipment time to maximize productivity and meet budgets.
- Communicate professionally with clients and oversee the delivery and off-loading of supplies and materials.
- Complete daily field reports and maintain a high standard of safety and quality.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of construction experience.
- Experience in the environmental field, including asbestos abatement and environmental remediation.
- Asbestos Worker Certification is required.
- Experience with construction hand tools and working outside in all weather conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or higher construction training preferred; willingness to obtain certification within 30 days of hire if not current.
- Experience in demolition, site assessment, PFAS, lead, report writing, industrial hygiene, asbestos inspection, and sample collection.
- Excellent communication skills, organized, hardworking, and motivated.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment post-offer physical.
Work Environment
This position is onsite in Norfolk, VA, supporting Federal Shipyard work. The role requires coordinating actions with other workers on busy construction sites, completing work projects on time, and maintaining regular and prompt attendance. You must be able to pick up construction debris and occasionally lift 50 lbs. The work involves sitting for prolonged periods with occasional standing and walking.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
