We are looking for a Business Insights Analyst to join our Strategy & Planning team and help us make better use of data, evidence and insight across the organisation.
About the Role
The Business Insights Analyst will lead the development and delivery of ACT’s business insight and performance intelligence, turning complex organisational data into meaningful, decision-ready insight that supports planning, decision-making and continuous improvement. This is a role for someone who is naturally curious and analytical, enjoys exploring data beyond routine reporting, and can identify trends, relationships, emerging issues and opportunities. You will work with both technical and non-technical colleagues to understand organisational questions, develop appropriate analytical approaches and turn complex findings into clear, accessible and engaging insight. You will use tools such as Power BI, data visualisation and, where appropriate, AI-enabled analytical techniques to bring data to life through reporting, storytelling and visualisation.

Your Impact
You will play a key role in helping ACT understand what our data is telling us and, importantly, why it matters. You will:
- Lead ACT’s business insight and performance intelligence activity.
- Explore complex data to identify trends, relationships, anomalies, emerging issues and opportunities.
- Go beyond routine reporting to uncover the factors and patterns behind performance and outcomes.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and analytical products using tools such as Power BI.
- Translate complex analysis into clear and engaging insight for a range of audiences.
- Use data visualisation and storytelling to make information meaningful and accessible.
- Provide analytical input into strategic planning, evaluation and organisational decision-making.
- Support baselining, trend analysis and performance assessment.
- Work with Digital Transformation, system owners and colleagues to improve data quality, accessibility and analytical capability.
- Help build ACT’s organisational capability to use data and evidence effectively.
ACT is committed to promoting the Welsh language for both staff and learners, and whilst it is not considered essential criteria, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role.
