Green Project Tech is building the intelligence layer behind sustainable supply chains. Our UK team leads on Engage50 (supplier engagement for enterprises) and Product50 (efficient PCF/carbon footprint calculation at scale). These tools feed into Account50 and Act50, powering a full-stack sustainability platform used by enterprises and SMEs across the GPT/ACT ecosystem. ACT, our parent company, is a global leader in sustainable products — giving us reach and credibility, with the autonomy and excitement of a startup.
Green Project is looking for a Tech Lead (Senior Software Engineer) to lead a small, high‑impact engineering team building features that power Engage50 and Product50 — the products helping enterprises measure and reduce their carbon footprint. You’ll set the technical direction, mentor others, and use AI‑assisted development to multiply the team’s speed and impact. This is a hands‑on leadership role with real product ownership and a clear mission: accelerate the world’s transition to net‑zero.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small, fast‑moving team building features across Engage50 and Product50.
- Set technical direction, uphold engineering standards, and ensure high‑quality delivery.
- Balance hands‑on coding with mentoring, design reviews, and coordination across product and design.
- Work closely with leadership to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
- Drive adoption of AI‑assisted development to boost productivity and creativity across the team.
- Partner daily with product managers, designers, and other engineers to turn ideas into shipped features — and help shape the technical culture of the company as we scale.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in Go or React (and a willingness to stretch across both).
- Proven experience leading projects or small teams.
- Strong technical judgment and architectural understanding.
- Prior startup experience and comfort with ambiguity.
- Motivation to build meaningful software for sustainability.
- Experience scaling teams in a startup environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and monitoring are a plus.
- Exposure to climate, ESG, or sustainability domains is a plus.
Salary Range
The base pay range for this position is £85,000 – £100,000 annually + discretionary bonus; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary.
- Flexible / hybrid working (London‑based preferred, occasional remote).
- Generous annual leave and public holidays.
- Budget for learning and conferences.
- Collaborative, high‑ownership culture built around climate impact.
