An established packaging and manufacturing business in Wellingborough is looking for a Tray Former Minder / Supervisor to join its skilled production and converting team. This is a specialist role, so candidates with direct Tray Former experience may be limited, and full training will be provided on the Tray Former machinery.
The key requirements are previous machine-minding or machine-operating experience combined with supervisory or team leadership experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone from a manufacturing, production, printing, packaging or converting background who is looking to develop their technical skills while taking responsibility for a production team.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Operating and learning to operate Tray Former machinery.
- Supervising and supporting the production team.
- Ensuring production schedules are completed on time and to customer specification.
- Monitoring the quality of finished packaging.
- Managing staffing levels and allocating work across the team.
- Supporting colleagues with day-to-day production requirements.
- Assisting with trials for new packaging projects.
- Completing production and traceability documentation.
- Ensuring daily machinery maintenance and department routines are completed.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality and health and safety.
- Identifying and resolving production issues.
- Working closely with management to achieve production targets.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous machine-minding or machine-operating experience.
- Previous supervisory, team leader or management experience.
- Experience within manufacturing, production, packaging, printing, converting or a similar environment.
- A practical, hands-on approach.
