Legal Assistant – Private Client Warrington | Full-Time | Office Based An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join a well-established and highly regarded Private Client team based in Warrington. This is an ideal role for someone with previous legal administration, legal secretarial or assistant experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment. You will work closely with experienced fee earners, supporting a varied caseload and helping to ensure clients receive a consistently high level of service. The Role As a Legal Assistant within the Private Client team, you will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support across a range of matters, including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and Estate Administration. Your responsibilities will include: Acting as a point of contact for clients, solicitors and other relevant parties, responding to queries professionally and efficiently. Providing clients with updates and assisting with the smooth progression of matters. Setting up and closing files in accordance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements and AML standards. Preparing straightforward correspondence, forms and legal documentation under appropriate supervision. Assisting with the submission and registration of documentation with relevant authorities, including the Probate Registry, HMRC and Certainty. Maintaining the secure storage, organisation and release of Wills, LPAs, Probate documentation and other important legal records. Supporting fee earners with diary management, appointments, calendars and contact information. Monitoring key dates, deadlines and outstanding actions to help ensure matters progress efficiently. Carrying out searches and assisting with the registration of Wills. Preparing bills, payments and receipts and liaising with the finance team where required. Assisting with the preparation of Estate Accounts using Excel. Providing telephone support and assisting with overflow client enquiries. Providing reception and general office support when required. Assisting with post, banking and other day-to-day office administration. Taking on additional administrative responsibilities to support the wider team and smooth running of the office.About You The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within a legal assistant, legal secretary or legal administration role, although candidates with strong transferable administrative experience may also be considered. You will ideally bring: A good understanding of the day-to-day workings of a legal environment. Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience using legal case management systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organisation and time-management abilities. A meticulous approach and excellent attention to detail. The ability to prioritise effectively and manage several tasks simultaneously.
