What will you be doing?
As an Area / Shift Coordinator, you will be the key operational link between Rapid Care LTD and our care company clients, ensuring staffing requests are fulfilled efficiently, safely and professionally. You will coordinate temporary and planned staffing requirements while recruiting and maintaining a reliable workforce to support high-quality care delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for allocated care companies, responding promptly to staffing requests and operational queries.
- Receiving, prioritising and coordinating shift requests, ensuring all staffing requirements are accurately recorded.
- Matching suitable, compliant and experienced staff to shifts based on skills, training, competence and availability.
- Maintaining accurate rotas and confirming bookings with both clients and workers.
- Managing cancellations, sickness, emergencies and short-notice requests by sourcing replacement staff quickly.
- Monitoring attendance, punctuality and shift completion while maintaining accurate records.
- Recruiting, screening and onboarding support workers and care staff to meet local workforce demand.
- Supporting recruitment activities including interviews, right-to-work checks, references, DBS checks, inductions and mandatory training.
- Maintaining compliance records, staff documentation and training expiry dates.
- Checking timesheets and resolving discrepancies before payroll processing.
- Escalating safeguarding concerns, incidents, complaints and staffing risks in line with company policies.
- Building strong professional relationships with clients and staff while continuously improving service quality and staffing performance.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with UK GDPR, confidentiality requirements and Rapid Care LTD policies.
Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Previous experience in care coordination, shift coordination, recruitment, staffing, supported living, residential care, nursing agency work or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care, confidentiality and safe staffing practices.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and urgent staffing requests.
- Professional communication skills with the confidence to liaise with clients, staff and management.
- Good decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and experience using rostering, recruitment or care management systems.
- Willingness to work flexibly and participate in an on-call rota.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, dignity and high-quality care.
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Health & Social Care, Business Administration, Recruitment or a related field (desirable).
- Previous experience recruiting care staff across multiple geographical areas (desirable).
- Knowledge of CQC standards and safer recruitment practices (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle where travel is required (desirable).
