THE ROLE ACS Recruitment is currently looking for an Equipment Maintenance Operative to join our client's busy logistics operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical mindset who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to develop their skills in equipment maintenance. You will play an important role in ensuring that site equipment, machinery and facilities remain safe, reliable and operational. EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE OPERATIVE Join a growing operation and play a key role in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. Hourly Pay Rates: AM Shift: £13.92 per hour PM Shift: £14.42 per hour Night Shift: £14.92 per hour Shift Patterns – Multiple Options Available Working Days Shift Hours Tuesday – Saturday 07:00 – 15:00 Sunday – Thursday 07:00 – 15:00 Tuesday – Saturday 15:00 – 23:00 Sunday – Thursday 15:00 – 23:00 Tuesday – Saturday 23:00 – 07:00 Sunday – Thursday 23:00 – 07:00 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and monitor spare parts inventories and equipment maintenance records. Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, equipment modifications and improvement projects. Support the maintenance of automated and semi-automated logistics equipment. Identify faults, investigate technical issues and assist with troubleshooting. Monitor equipment safety and operational performance, recommending improvements where necessary. Support maintenance of electrical systems, fire safety equipment, CCTV and general site facilities. Work alongside supervisors, technical specialists and external suppliers to ensure equipment operates efficiently. Promote safe working practices and help identify areas where maintenance procedures can be improved. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Previous experience in equipment, machinery or logistics maintenance would be an advantage. Good organisational, coordination and problem-solving skills. A proactive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn and develop. Someone confident working independently once trained. Ability to identify faults and troubleshoot basic technical issues. Basic computer skills are essential – you must be comfortable using a computer as part of your daily duties.
