An established and growing safety consultancy is looking to appoint a SHEQ Advisor to support a diverse portfolio of clients across the North of England. This is a hands-on, advisory role suited to someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, building strong client relationships, and making safety work in the real world — not ticking boxes. Covering a large regional patch, this role offers autonomy, flexibility, and clear progression within a people-focused business that genuinely invests in its team.
The Role
- Providing competent, practical and proportionate SHEQ advice to a varied client base
- Conducting risk assessments, audits and gap analyses across multiple industries
- Developing RAMS, policies, procedures, toolbox talks and safety documentation
- Supporting construction clients with CPPs and wider CDM requirements
- Delivering ad hoc phone and email advice to retained clients
- Supporting implementation of management systems and improvement plans
- Working with a bespoke digital safety platform to build risk libraries, audits and templates
- Managing your own diary, travel and workload while retaining and developing client relationships
Clients span sectors including construction, manufacturing, education, waste & recycling, utilities, farming, events and renewables.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ UK experience in Health & Safety / SHEQ
- Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (minimum)
- Strong experience with risk assessments and regulatory compliance
- Confident advising across different industries and risk profiles
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (business use required)
- Based no further south than Sheffield due to regional coverage
Desirable
- Multi-site or consultancy-style experience
- Exposure to construction, manufacturing, utilities or similar sectors
- Environmental and/or Quality experience or qualifications

- £34,000 – £38,000 basic salary (DOE)
- Mileage paid at £0.45 per mile
