Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead food safety, quality, and compliance across our client’s site. This hands-on role is central to maintaining high standards, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring ongoing compliance with customer, regulatory, and third-party accreditation requirements, including BRC, BMPA, and Organic standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support third-party and customer audits, ensuring full audit readiness.
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Manage internal audits (GMP, hygiene, glass/plastic) and corrective actions.
- Oversee complaint investigations, root cause analysis, and preventative actions.
- Support supplier approval and performance monitoring.
- Monitor laboratory results and investigate non-conformances.
- Work closely with Production to embed strong GMP and food safety culture.
- Lead or support HACCP activities and ensure effective food safety controls.
- Ensure appropriate food safety training and compliance across the site.
Compliance & Accountability
Responsible for ensuring compliance with UK food safety legislation and maintaining BRC accreditation, reporting to the company directors.
About You
- Experience in a high-risk, raw and ready-to-eat food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and QMS management.
- Degree in Food Science or related discipline preferred.
- HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety qualifications essential.
- Detail-focused, proactive, and confident working cross-functionally.
