A well-established food manufacturing business is looking for a reliable and detail-focused Production Quality Control Operative to join its quality team within a fast-paced meat processing environment. This is a hands-on role working directly on the production line, carrying out real-time quality checks to ensure products consistently meet food safety, legality, and customer standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance, challenging poor practices, and ensuring accurate due diligence records are completed throughout production.
The Role
- Carrying out continuous in-line quality checks during production and packing
- Inspecting products for weight, appearance, labelling, packaging integrity, and specification compliance
- Monitoring CCPs including temperature checks, metal detection, weight control, and label verification
- Completing all quality records, due diligence paperwork, and traceability documentation accurately and in real time
- Identifying and escalating non-conforming products or food safety concerns immediately
- Supporting HACCP, BRC, and site compliance standards at all times
- Monitoring GMP, hygiene, PPE, and production practices on the line
- Working closely with production teams and supervisors to maintain standards and resolve issues quickly
- Supporting line start-ups, product changeovers, and investigations where required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within food manufacturing, meat processing, or production environments
- Experience completing production or QC paperwork accurately in real time
- Strong understanding of quality control and due diligence procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Confident communicator who can challenge issues when standards are not met
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively within a fast-paced factory environment
Desirable
- Knowledge of HACCP, CCP monitoring, and BRC standards
- Food Safety Level 2 qualification or above
- Previous QA or QC experience within a factory or food production setting
